“OVER-ROASTING COVERS A MULTITUDE OF SINS.”

FRONT TO BACK: Stu Helm, Chef Joe Scully, Lucy Murphy, Lindsay Lee
Hello Asheville!
AVL Food Fans #19 – “Into the Black Coffee Abyss” might be the most fun that Joe and I have had doing the show so far. He was in great form, cracking us all up a bunch of times. Our special guest Lindsay Lee from Counter Culture Coffee was great, and we learned some stuff about coffee and life that we didn’t know.

At the beginning of the show, we delivered the Food News with the help of Lucy Murphy from the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association, which included stories about MANNA FoodBank, The Bull and Beggar, Laughing Seed Cafe, Mellow Mushroom Asheville, Isis Restaurant and Music Hall, Kroger, The Fresh Market, Asheville Wine & Food Festival, Valet Gourmet, Mamma’s, Carolina Mountain Cheese Fest, Gàn Shān Station, Chai Pani, Bonfire Barbecue, Buffalo Nickel, Copper Crown, the James Beard nominees, the Asheville Coffee Expo, and of course, a CAT CAFE UPDATE! (No update.)

Thanks as always to Chestnut, The Corner Kitchen, Corner Kitchen Catering, Buffalo Nickel, Blue Ridge Restaurant Equipment, and Aloft Asheville Downtown for underwriting the show, and to Chai Pani for providing us with delicious palkoras! Thanks as well to the Derita Sisters for lending us a theme song, and to our Producer Matt from ZaPow for making us sound so great! Finally, thanks to WPVM 103.7 The Voice for rebroadcasting our show every Friday at 5pm!
