I offer restaurant consultation, not because I’m an expert at running restaurants, but because I’m an expert at eating in them! As a well-known, and generally well-respected professional eater, I’m sometimes asked for my opinions and advice by owners and managers of new or struggling restaurants, cafes, food trucks, and other food & beverage venues.
On average, I eat at 150+ different restaurants annually.
I see them come, and I see them go, and when they go, I hate it, but I’m usually not surprised. In a lot of cases, the writing was already on the wall.
The restaurant that served me the worst meal I had in 2022? Gone.
The restaurant that I said was “never gonna make it?” Didn’t make it.

- The next step, should you choose to take it, is for me to pay a visit to your venue and experience it as your customers do, after which I will provide you with a written assessment, including pictures.
- From there we can work together to develop a cohesive plan of action to turn your business around, increase your customer base, and set you up for success.

I’ve produced and / or co-produced dozens of events, including the Asheville Coffee Expo, the WNC Pizza Fight, the Live Stoobie Awards, and Punk Rock Hot Dogs. I’ve been a participant at many more, as a judge, speaker, emcee, and vendor, including the Battle of the Burger, the Wing War, Chow Chow, and the Carolina Mountain Cheese Fest! I’ve even worked with fancy chefs and co-hosted fancy dinners for fancy people!
