Dawn and I were in DC for the Women’s March, and I made reservations for our 12 year anniversary at Chef Jose Andres’ famous tapas joint, called Jaleo. It came highly recommended by Felix Meana who co-owns Cúrate here in Asheville. It was awesome!
I was a judge at the 6th Annual Black Jar International Honey Contest. I tasted 30 kinds of honey, along with celebrity judges that included Chef Katie Button, and Jonathan Ammons! They also fed us lunch AND dinner!
Cortado by Trade and Lore Coffee with heart-shaped chocolate truffle by 50/fifty The Art of Dessert. Various baked good samples by Mountain Nectar Bakery at Lexington Corner Market. Traditional scone with cafe au latte, and French creamy with coffee at Old Europe. Amazing stuff!
Tastee chicken & waffle: fried chicken tenders over waffle w queso and pineapple jalapeño relish. Double cheeseburger w fries. Cheap eats. Very satisfying. Thumbs up.
