Hello Asheville!

AVL Food Fans episode #20 is in the can and ready to listen to!

Click here to check it out: www.StudioZapow/AVLFoodFans20-root-down-on-it

The show starts with Joe getting pranked by our friends at Chai Pani, who styled-him-out with some dino-bite chicken nuggets from the grocery store, because he was so sad last week when the pakoras were only kale. His face was frickin’ hilarious!

After intros, we are joined by the ever awesome Lucy Murphy from the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association, who helps us deliver the food news.

L-R: Stu Helm and Lucy Murphy deliver the Food News.

Venues, organizations, and events that we mention during the Food News include:

Asheville Humane Society, Izzy’s Coffee House, Izzys Coffee Den, Foothills Local Meats, Ben’s Penny Mart, Bens Tune Up, Hi-Wire Brewing, Highland Brewing Company, Stone Road Restaurant and Bar, Green Man Brewery, Asheville Food Trucks, Carolina Mountain Cheese Fest, The Girly Girl Revue, Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina, Celine and Company Catering “On Broadway”, Mellow Mushroom Asheville, Golden Fleece Slow Earth Kitchen, The Thirsty Monk, Little Bee Thai, OWL Bakery, Luella’s Bar-B-Que, Magpie Meat & Three, Mojo Kitchen & Lounge, Foggy Mountain Brewpub, Moe’s Original Bar B Que, and Farm To Fender.

AIR DROP: Lucy also talks about AIR’s involvement in the Pate Dawson-Southern Foods Food Show on March 15th on the Biltmore Estate!

After the Food news we are joined by our special guest, Dano Holcomb from Root Down food truck, who is awesome, and we had a lot of laughs together! Find out about Dano’s roots in Chicago Illinois, and how he got to Asheville via NOLA to bring us his amazing Cajun influenced food! Also, he showed-up with mason jars of hot pepper jelly for us!

Then at the end of the show, Joe and I talk briefly about “Fine Dining.” I touch on the evening that Dawn and I spent at Eleven Madison Park, and Joe and I relate it back to Asheville. Joe mentions the Inn on Biltmore as the only place in town that approaches a “fine dining” level of service. I also mention Table Asheville and Red Stag Grill as two places that could possibly go in that direction.

It was another really fun show! Thanks for listening! If you enjoy the show, please share the link!
