“Gosh, that’s a tough one…”
I recently received a FaceBook message from a reader asking me about a specific international cuisine. I came up empty, but he informed me about a thing or two.
J- Hey there, do you know of any Colombian restaurants in the area? My wife is Colombian and homesick!
Stu Helm: Food Fan – Gosh, that’s a tough one. I couldn’t think of any, so I asked around a little bit, and came up blank again. I’ll keep on it, and let you know. Maybe there’s a food truck. I’ll hunt it down. In the meantime, I know it’s not the same, but there are other South American options, like Peruvian, Brazilian, and Argentinian food. Sorry I couldn’t come up with anything Colombian for you!
Stumped! No Colombian food trucks in Asheville.
J – Thanks! There is a place in Spruce Pine but that’s such a haul! I appreciate your efforts
Stu Helm: Food Fan – Yeah, Spruce Pine is a haul! I still haven’t made it out there to try Knife and Fork. I’ll keep my ear to the ground and let you know if I unearth anything. Oh, what’s the name of the Colombian place in SP?
J – It’s called The Tropical Grill you can’t miss it! It’s very brightly painted. So it really stands out in Spruce Pine. It’s good. I just keep having to take my wife to Miami every three months to get Real Colombian. Mary’s Burritos in Arden actually does a bandeja paisa with a Mexican twist. Pretty good
Stu Helm: Food Fan – Great! Thanks for the info!
If you have questions for me, about where to eat, or what to eat, just PM me through my FaceBook page!
