“Are You a Crime-Fighter?”
AVL Food Fans episode #21 – “Livengood, Feelin’ Good” was another fun show to record, made even more so by the presence of Daisy the Dog! Yay! In addition to Daisy, Chef Joe and I are joined by Lucy Murphy, Anne Livengood, and this time even producer Matt speaks into a mic!

First, Lucy delivers The Food News to us, which this week includes: Taco Temple, Golden Fleece Slow Earth Kitchen, Sonora Restaurant, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue‘s Cat Cafe Update! Black Forrest Restaurant Asheville, Rocket Fizz, Lex 18 – Appalachian Supper Club & Moonshine Bar, Mountain BizWorks, Black Mountain Ciderworks & Meadery, Copper Pot and Wooden Spoon, Medea’s Espresso & Juice Bar, No Evil Foods, The Hop Ice Cream Cafe, 12 Bones River, MG Road, Dynamite Roasting Company, Navitat Canopy Adventures, The Odditorium,
At the half-hour, we are joined by Anne Livengood, who is the co-owner of an exercise company called Soundbarre. Anne worked with several local chefs who created healthy, delicious recipes, to help uplift people in body, mind, and spirit. We talk about healthy food, and Anne ALMOST reveals herself to be a crime-fighting super hero!
Here are four of the recipes that Chef Reza Setayesh, former owner of Rezaz and Piazza, provided for Anne’s Soundbarre Boot Camp. Click on the thumbnails to see larger version.
We wrap up with Anne about 12 mins before the show ends so that Joe and I can talk about Food Fest Season, which is upon us! We mention The Food Truck Showdown, Loaded Up and Truckin’ Food Truck Off + Aural Pleasure Fest, Asheville Bread Festival, Carolina Mountain Cheese Fest, The Spring Herb Festival, RampFest, Asheville Wine & Food Festival (Elixir, Sweet, Grand Tasting), Asheville VegFest: A Celebration of Vegan Food and Drink!, LEAF Community Arts, Livermush Festival, Blue Ridge BBQ and Music Festival, Asheville VeganFest, Spruce Pine BBQ and Bluegrass, WNC Battle of the Burger, and Organicfest.
As I said, it’s a fun show, Anne plays along with me and Joe as we goof around, and we all have a lot of laughs. I hope you do too!
