STU HELM’S MEGA FOOD MAPS: Downtown Asheville – All food and Drinks!

Stu Helm the Food Fan has made another one of his famous Food Maps, and this one is the “mother of all maps!” Can you get a drink at the Pinball Museum? Yes! How far of a walk is it from one end of Asheville’s food scene to the other? About 20 minutes! Find & visit every venue in town! Plan a night out with friends! Share these maps, make recommendations, and find new places to eat in the sprawling mecca of America’s Best Food Town!

DOWNTOWN FOOD MAPS

EVERY VENUE IN DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE IN WHICH YOU WILL FIND FOOD OR DRINKS IS LISTED ON THE TWO MAPS BELOW.

ABOVE: LABELED MAP (click here or on the image above to see a larger version) This map has every space in downtown Asheville in which one might find food or drinks labeled in short hand. If you are not able to decipher the shorthand at first, you should be able to figure it out using Google and such.

Are the maps interactive? No, sorry. But if you’d like to see a list featuring most of the venues on these maps, with links to their Facebook pages, you can click HERE.

BELOW: STAR MAP WORKSHEET (click here or on the image below to see a larger version, or click here to download a printable PDF file) This map has every space in downtown Asheville in which one might find food or drinks marked as a star (or food truck icon) You can compare it to the labeled map above, and check off the stars as you visit them!

FOOD TOURS: If you would like to book a guided Food Tour of Asheville with Stu Helm, please visit AshevilleFoodTours.com!

There are somewhere around 200 places to quench your thirst and/or feed your face in Downtown Asheville at any given time. Can you visit them ALL? These maps show the current occupants (as of Jan. 2018) as well as a few empty restaurant spaces, and a couple of spaces that are currently being worked on, and are “coming soon.” I will updates these maps every once in a while, to make sure they are basically accurate. IF YOU KNOW of a place I left out, or a new place that is opening up, please let me know by commenting below.

Will you be making food maps of other parts of town? Well, maybe. I made one of the River Arts district a while ago, so that would be easy to update, and I made several maps of just cafes for my Asheville Coffee Guide, that include the RAD and West Asheville. Those cafe maps can be seen here.

Making food maps takes a lot of time, and ain’t nobody payin’ me to do ’em, so I gotta kinda get to them when I can. For now, please enjoy the two food maps above, and the cafe maps on Issu, and I’ll definitely do other food maps in the future as time allows!

  1. Great resource and thanks for doing this. I was wondering if there is any news on Jerusalem Garden. They have been closed for several weeks, sign on the door says renovation but it doesn’t look as if any work is being done. What do you know Stu?
